By the beginning of the next week, first Croatian transport airplane An-32B will departure for a 5000 KM long trip to Afghanistan, Militarium finds out. Along with several pilot crews, three Croatian generals will be on the flight - Croatian Air Forces Commander Brigadier General Vlado Bagaric, Brigadier General Nikola Skunca and Brigadier General Slaven Zdilar.From May 20-25 Croatian crew will explore Afghan air space, entrance procedures and access' to airports.This flight is first Croatian flight with transport airplane into NATO's fighting zone. Crews got permissions to fly over countries on its way to Kabul and from there to north towards Mazar-e-Sharif.Three landings are scheduled before the final destination - in Turkey, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Crews will fly seven hours per a day and they have already experienced similar situation in American military base Ramstein in Germany where they have trained landing procedure with tactical navigation device TACAN, also located on Kabul's airport.This transport airplane has small range and most likely it will be stationed in Afghanistan as support to NATO's forces in air transport.Croatian airplane is upgraded with IC baits for projectiles dissuasion and TICAS system which notifies when other airplanes are nearby so An-32B is completely in accordance with NATO flying standards.
