Long-standing allies India and Russia have expressed their readiness to expand the scope of cooperation on a ‘mutually beneficial basis’ between the two nations. This has happened even as India expressed its concern over delays on part of Russia in providing spares for existing equipment and while it termed the design and development of a multi-role transport aircraft as “tardy progress”. The Defence Ministers of India and Russia, AK Antony and AE Serdyukov, respectively, met in Moscow last evening.
