New Ballistic Missile Early Warning Radar Deployed in Russia


Another ballistic missile early warning system, the fourth in Russia, is being deployed in the Leningrad region.

Earlier, such radars were deployed in the Kaliningrad, Krasnodar and Irkutsk regions. These are radars of a new generation, the official spokesman for the Aerospace Defence Troops, Alexei Zolotukhin, said.

More radars of this type are due to be deployed in the Siberian cities of Pechora, Barnaul, Yeniseysk and Omsk, as well as in Murmansk, in the north of European Russia.
