Dassault Aviation is going through dark days. Charles Edelstenne, CEO of the group, admitted a few weeks ago that orders for its executive jets, Falcon, are stalled. And now the company suffers a new setback with its Rafale fighter. The Official TTU Kuwait, the country would have chosen the Saab Gripen instead of the Rafale. The newspaper refers to two reasons. The first is the price. One argument that is frequently mentioned in the case of the French game. This also would be the obstacle for which the French game would be unsuccessful by Switzerland would be preferentially choosing the proposal issued by the manufacturer SAAB's Gripen. According to the newspaper TTU, the Saab has a very aggressive trade policy. Without the option to sell the aircraft to the Swedish Air Force SAAB has to get new orders for its next game in two years, under penalty of being left with the assembly line empty. " The second reason is more technical. The airspace of Kuwait is very small. The Rafale has the ability to respond to long-range, an advantage that is not necessarily appropriate in the case of Kuwait. In addition to these setbacks rumors from India are also not encouraging.

Interesting development. I didn't know that Kuwait is a market for Gripen and Rafale.
French have to price their fighter aircraft in competition to the american fighter aircraft , french aircaft have a high price vis a vis the american made aircraft while not offering anything more, that is the reason f-16 outsold the mirage 2000
