Saudi Arabia gives Israel clear skies to attack Iranian nuclear sites

Saudi Arabia has conducted tests to stand down its air defences to enable Israeli jets to make a bombing raid on Iran’s nuclear facilities, The Times can reveal. To ensure the Israeli bombers pass unmolested, Riyadh has carried out tests to make certain its own jets are not scrambled and missile defence systems not activated. Once the Israelis are through, the kingdom’s air defences will return to full alert.“The Saudis have given their permission for the Israelis to pass over and they will look the other way,” said a US defence source in the area. “They have already done tests to make sure their own jets aren’t scrambled and no one gets shot down. This has all been done with the agreement of the [US] State Department.”

Interesting.

Recent UN vote indicates that the Iranian nuclear program is a source of concern for most, if not all, of its members.

Saudis always had this Suni-Shia problem and would never like the Iran to have N-Bomb.

Ethnic difference aside, it's an interesting gesture from the Saudi's side.

Iran is unlikely to stand down even if the whole world demands that it does. Ahmadinejad is treating the UN resolution as if it's a 'suggestion.'

"Saudi Arabia Denies Airspace Reports

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has denied foreign media reports suggesting that it had permitted Israel to use its airspace to launch attacks against Iran, Arab News reported on Saturday. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, an official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “Saudi Arabia has noticed some false claims in some sections of the British media that it has permitted Israel to launch attacks on Iran using its airspace.” The source added that the Kingdom had reiterated its clear stance that it would never allow anyone to use its airspace or territory to attack any other country. The source also said it was appropriate that the Kingdom should apply the same principle with Israel with which it had no relations. daily times monitor."
