A Royal Marine has been killed in a blast in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence has said.The incident took place on Wednesday and the soldier's next of kin have been informed.He was killed in an explosion in the Sangin district of Helmand province, while taking part in a foot patrol with soldiers from the Afghan National Army.This latest death brings the number of UK service personnel killed in Afghanistan to 290.
